   Hello,

   I'm shortly upgrading to 2.8.4 but I just wanted to check whether 2.8.5 is due for imminent release - if it is, I'll hold back, but if it's a month or more away (in all liklihood) I'll go ahead an upgrade to 2.8.4 - so could someone please let me know if the new version release is just around the corner or somewhere further down the line?

   The dot something releases are usually patches and will only be released if necessary. If nothing strange is found, it is more likely that the next release will be 2.9.

   Ok, so let me re-phrase, when is 2.9 likely to be out? (Thanks for explaining the numbering system).

   31 October 2009, but it'd be the first time that this first date is the actual release date :-)

   But when you use an older version than 2.8.4 you have to upgrade anyway, since it's a security fix (just as most of the .somethings).
