   I have just installed Wordpress 2.8 on a local server running Hiawatha 6.14, mysql 5.1.35, and php 5.2.9. When I try to import a 1.2 MB exported xml from my Wordpress.com blog (deaddogcafe), nothing happens when I click on "Upload file and import." No posts, tags, etc are uploaded at all, even partially. I know the export file works because I used it on another Wordpress.com blog.

   I am completely new to this, so apologies if I'm missing something obvious. Any help would be appreciated.

   I also made sure wp-config has full read/write permissions for any user.
