I am very new with WordPress. Please feel free to correct me if my concept is wrong.
From my understanding, I can create my navigation system by creating PAGES. If that concept is correct, I have created 6 navigation buttons. 3 of the pages are going to be static which is easy to do.
However, the other 3 pages are going to have posts under them. What can I do to achieve that? Thank you have your help.

    My horizontal navigation structure:
    nav1(home page) - topic 1: posts
    nav2 - topic 2: posts
    nav3 - topic 3: posts
    nav4 - static page
    nav5 - static page
    nav6 - static page

One way to archive this is to use categories in the navigation bar; google it. In the admin area go to "Posts - Categories" and create three categories, one for each of your topics. When you start writing posts assign the corresponding category to the post. If you've adjusted your navigation bar accordingly you can click on the various topics (categories) and you'll see the posts that you've filed unter that category.

    Consider this:
How to easily display links to both Pages and Categories in the blog navigation header?

Also note the Amazing Grace theme shows categories and pages in separated navigation areas.
