PLUGIN: NextGen gallery

I have just installed the NextGEN Gallery plugin and worked through a lot of the bugs that have plagued other forum postings such as the removal of the clear:both line and the removal of view images with piclens option.

Here is my issue: when clicking on any image in a gallery, it opens in a full view window (the same as the blog window/tab) rather than a smaller view screen that grays out or darkens the actual blog page. Viewers would then have to hit the back button to get back to the actual blog page.

this is the last quirk I need to work out. And I apologize if this has been answered already, I went through quite a few of the forum postings looking for an answer.
