   Hi Guys,

   I've recently upgraded my wordpress versione from 2.7 to 2.8 and from that time I cannot upload or add any images into my posts.

   When I try to click the "add image" button in the upload/insert section on top of the standard editor i don't receive any response...

   the same problem with the other media buttons, video, music etc.

   I think the upgrade could be the real cause of my issue...

   I've already tried to deactivate all plugins then reactivate them but with no lucky.

   Could you please help me?

   wordpress bug. there are more people in this situation. Wait for 2.8.1

   Same problem here ;/ What day is 2.8.1 sheduled for?

   If you are using a custom directory to upload your photos in 2.8, there is only one way I found out how to make it work. With a fresh install, in the "Setting/Miscellaneous" under "Store uploads in this folder", I put "uploads" (instead of the default 'wp-content/uploads') and for "Full URL path to files" I put "http://www.mywebsite.com/uploads" then clicked the "Save Changes" button. Then by using a FTP client, I had to CHMOD the Permissions settings for the newly created "uploads" directory to "777" before attempting to upload an new images while adding or updating any posts.

   Thanks scarpace, i've tried but with no result and after upgrade too.

   Do I really need to reinstall everything?

   Any other solution?

   This is the worse case scenario when you cannot upload an image or anything from your computer. I'm having the same problems like everyone who had updated to version 2.8, but also 2.8.1. Will someone please fix this problem? I cannot upload at all.

   I could solve the problem for me, maybe this solution will work for one of you too.

   With WordPress 2.7.1 I've had no problems adding images to a post or page, but with 2.8.1 it did not work anymore. The problem was the AdBlock Plus plugin that I'm using with Firefox/Icewesel. When I deactivate the plugin for my blog and reload the page, the button for adding images works again.

   Now I just need to figure out why I do not get any thumbnails for my images ...

   thanks for your help BitKipper but I've tried with every browsers on almost every kind of OS....so I'm pretty sure it's a wordpress problem...

    I've also notice that a can't add tags on my post editor too anymore...it appears to be maybe a javascript error... but I don't know...
