hi,
I've installed Wordpress 2.8 on my MacHighway server and when I check my ftp, all the files are indeed installed. When i surf to my admin page i see the login screen but when i enter my login and password it just does nothing. It automatically shows the same screen again to login. Grrr, very frustrating!
I already did all these things explained here on this page but nothing works...

Please can someone help me out ?
Thanks a million!

This morning I found that I couldn't login and then even worse--my blog came up as a completely blank page. I followed all the steps on the page you mentioned and confirmed that the correct variables were in the database, etc. It seemed that I had to use a standard debugging technique.
So I connected to my blog via Filezilla/FTP and deleted all plug-ins. Then I restored them one at a time. After each one, I refreshed the tab containing my blog until it came up again. If there was no change I put the plug-in back and deleted the next one, etc. until I found the one that was corrupted. That turned out to be backup-wordpress. I noticed that backup-wordpress had created a corrupted Zip file yesterday. When I deleted the corrupted plug-in's folder the site was visible again and all my plug-in settings were intact.
You might have to do similar debugging one step at a time until you can login successfully again.
