[Plugin: eShop] Activation for 3.5.4 ? (8 posts)

    Hi there

I'm trying to setup an eshop/shopping cart on my localhost installation so I can get the hang of the plugin before working on a prod installation. WP 2.5.1 using WAMP on XP.

I've tried the WP Shopping Cart which screws up my menus, so I was hoping this plugin might do the trick - however ..

I can't seem to get the plugin activated ?

I get a server time out error after reactivation, despite having this installed locally using WAMP. I understand there might have been issues creating the eshop_downloads and eshop_files directories and those didn't get created for me.

Can I create those directories myself ? If so do I need to then add files to them afterwards ?

    Thanks.

I'll admit to not having tested on 2.5.1 for a long time, so things may be skewed towards later WP releases.

But yes you can create the directories:
    wp-content/eshop_downloads
    and
    wp-content/uploads/eshop_files

You will also need to copy some files into those directories from the plugin:
    eshop/downloads & eshop/files.

You also need to copy over the payment logo's from the relevant directories to the eshop_files directory.

    hope that helps.

    HI Elfin

Thanks - can you advise which files need copying ? Is it all the files in the directories above ? and are the payment logo's in different locations to go into the one directory ?

    Cheers

yep sorry - all files from the 2 directories get copied over.

And just the payment logo's from the payment directories, which should all be png's named after eacj directory.

Thanks again Elfin - got those files copied. However I'm still prompted with the msg - eShop 3.5.4 is now ready to use. You must now deactivate and re-activate the plugin.

Deactivating is fine, but every time I reactivate I get a network timeout error. I've tried this on both my localhost/WAMP install as well as the hosted live site ?

The error seems to occur because the of the text &plugin=eshop%2Feshop.php&_wpnonce rather than the correct &plugin=eshop/eshop.php&_wpnonce - which is translated by the browser ?

If I "correct" the string above then I get a "plugin activated" alert but the deactivate/re-activate message remains ?

Any further suggestions on how I can manually activate the plugin ?

    Cheers

Ok more info - I've upgraded our live site to WP 2.71 (I never like new releases so I'll wait till 2.81 is out) and installed eShop 3.5.4 and all seems to be working ok.

I've not updated my dev localhost/wamp site so the problem still exists there.

Is there any documentation for eShop ? I've looked around the forums on quirm.net but couldn't see anything ?

    Cheers
