I logged into my site admin today and went to the widgets page. However, when I went to expand the settings for a widget, nothing happened. Confused, I tried moving it as well as expanding/collapsing other sidebars. Nothing worked. The mouse cursor always switched correctly, but clicking did absolutely nothing. I have used the widgets pages since I upgraded to 2.8 flawlessly, but now it will not work.

I waited overnight and my Widgets page is back up and running! I guess it just needed time.

Mine's not working either. It just sits there. A bunch of stuff has changed since my last login (and yes, I had already updated to 2.8).
WTF, WordPress? The last version worked way better. Okay, that's going a bit far, but it did actually work. This new, improved version? Well, that's about 1/2 right.

It stopped working again...
I cleared all cookies and cache which didn't work. I will wait again overnight and see if it fixes itself again...

Mine's doing the same thing... ?
Try deactivating all plugins and check to see if this resolves the problem. If it does, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

This is among the problems I've been experiencing.

In my case, it's the edit widget page that fails ever to load.
