• The new admin page for sidebar widgets looks great, however, the widgets do not drag either to or from the ‘home’ area to the sidebar, or vice versa.

This may be just the javascript, or however the drag function works – has anyone else had this issue – resolution?

I had a lot of permission issues with the automatic update of 2.8 from 2.7.1 and had to manually set permissions of all the php files. Could this be related?

    Thanks in advance

  • Have you tried deactivating all plugins and checking to see if this resolves the problem?

man!! it resolves!! but I need for my plugins!!
I have to install version 2.7?

Same problem – using the wp e-commerce plugin I need to use widgets, but cannot drag them unless the plugin is deactivated, which, of course, removes the necessary widgets!?

I still have the same problem in 2.8.1 version :/

    Ditto! Help!

    Hi,

    1. Generally, it is due to the plugins which creates this kind of problem….so you can either deactivate all plugins from database…And reactivate one-by-one to find culprit…or rename the Plugins directory via FTP.

    2. From wordpress admin area -> Appearance-> Widgets under Screen options, try the Enable Accessibility Mode.

    3. Delete or refresh the browser cache.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Had to do the above even though all plug-ins where deactivated.

I had the same trouble when updated to WordPress 2.8.

I removed wpinvoice plug in and then disabled accessibility on the screen options top right corner and was able to drag widgets fine.

I guess its the plug ins which don’t work with 2.8

this problem being beacause of some plugins. Such as Category Icons.
