   This is the error
   Fatal error: Call to undefined function: _weak_escape() in /home/makin36/public_html/blog/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 487

   I can not access anything in my admin panel. Any ideas. I unfortunately did not back up this blog! AHHH! my stupidity I know!! My other blog-which I do back up- loaded fine-murphy's law.

   Any help is appreciated!! Hate to have to create all content again!!

   I think you are missing files. Download 2.8 and ftp everything to your site except for the "wp-contents" folder. It will overwrite any bad files and add any missing ones.

   I have a similar problem:

   Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 67087 bytes) in /mounted-storage/home45b/sub003/sc32845-WGNT/www/christian/wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php on line 4067

   Any suggestions?

   Ok - I did what I usually do first when I hit this kind of a wall, I Googled the error message.

   I searched on "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of" leaving off the actual size as it might be different for each case.

   I got a whole list of sites and checked this one out: http://styleblogdesigns.com/wordpress-fatal-error-allowed-memory-size-of-bytes-exhausted-solved/

   It basically has instructions how to increase your memory size. I haven't tried this, but then again I haven't gotten your error message.

   onnaholl - did you ever fix the problem? I just got the same error. For some reason I can find nothing from Wordpress or anyone else on how to resolve this issue.
