   Parse error: parse error in C:\xampplite\htdocs\wordpress\wp-config.php on line 77

   This is a clean install on windows.I read other peoples opinion about white space or line breaks ouside of <? ?> I don't think that is the case. I followed the directions to the letter.

   HELP

   What's on line 77? There should be only one <?php on the first line. Delete the ?> at the bottom if there is one.

   Nothing was,
   I tried ?> on line 77 then ?> on line 76

   No luck

   Could it be I edited it using Windows note pad?

   Hi,

   Make sure that there is no white space iat start and end of the file..it may cause the error..so remove that and have a check..also refer this case study..

   FIX FOR ALL
   THIS PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY USING MICROSOFT TO EDIT THE FILE!!!

   DO NOT USE WORDPAD OR NOTE PAD TO EDIT THIS. IT LOOKS FINE WHEN YOU ARE DONE BUT THE FILE IS JUNK!!!

   I DOWNLOADED a clean file then used METAPAD IT WORKS
