My mistake, I thought since it was still listed as 2.7.0 that it had not been updated since it’s original release.
it is updated, please check update date in that page, version number will not be increased before releasing at wp.org.

if you downloaded the from wpdownloadmanager.com, then you have v2.7 ( http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wordpress-download-manager-v2-7-0/ <– you may see pros/cons there ) which will be released in wp.org soon. As v2.7 using custom post type, you need to migrate data using this add-on http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/copy-to-pro/

there was a few issue for v2.6 we had to clear those first before move to v2.7 at wp.org , as some user may not move to 2.7.
