   I've been having strange problems with my site for a long time. I have been using WP since 0.82 I think and have installed literally hundreds of plugins over the years to test, moved hosts a number of times and consequently MySQl versions etc.

   The last host move has caused so many problems. I am working with them to solve the issues but am convinced that my wp_options table is causing some issues.

   I only have 4 plugins currently installed.

   For example, I used to use the slimbox plugin but it now doesn't work. I tried installing it many time and it appears and gets activated but no options appear and it doesn't work.

   That's just one example.

   I've tried a etst bed installation host by the same host (DreamHost) and it works fine.

   So, what I want to do is use a fresh install wp_Option table and mnaually edit some of the options and kinda start again.

   I've used a plugin called Clean Options and it seemed very good but I just feel I want a fresh start.

   Obviously I'll backup the table before I replace it, but I just thought I'd ask here first.

   Also, where is the best palce to get a frsh table? SHould I just create a new install on another domain I have and copy that across, then edit via phpmyadmin the basic elements?

   I would suggest against this procedure all together. The wp_options table is home to a TON of serialized data which is very messy to edit by hand. This table also holds information pertaining to your uploads - have of which is serialized...

   how many records do you have in there? Are there any pressing issues that make you want to "clean" the table.

   This sounds like it will work - if you want to try this, just head my warning - if you kill all of the options - you will at least have to re-upload all of your images. And some of your plugins might go buggy.

   Thanks for the reply.

   Yes, I have a serious issue (Constant 500 ISE, pages not found, blank pages etc - all since my host move) with the site which is why I am thinking of something sooo radical. Although I'll follow my host's instruction until I have no other options.

   I've got 363 records. That's after I cleaned a ton out. I don't know if that's a lot or not.

   I'm not sure I understand about loading all my images again. I don't use WP Media Library, it's too messy for me.

   I'll disable the few plugins I use and just pretend to install them again.
