• So when I installed wordpress I put it in it’s own directory. So I can’t just go to “myblog.com”, I have to use “myblog.com/wordpress/”. I tryed just moving everything to the root folder, but that broke many many things.

What do I need to do to get it to work with just “myblog.com”? I would prefer not having to reinstall everything.

  • You don’t have to reinstall everything. Move all of the files/folders into the directory where you want them to live and then follow this guide: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/

Read the guide BEFORE you do anything.

I don’t have phpMyAdmin installed. Is there another way to do this, or would it just be easier in the long run to install phpMyAdmin?

By far. phpMyAdmin is a very powerful tool. As well as fixing database screw-ups, phpMyAdmin can be user to repair, optimize, and backup your WordPress database.

Not sure if this would work or not… but you could just start a new blog. Create the folder structure you want, “reinstall” WP into that folder, following the directions for installing multiple blogs. If you don’t have any entries or anything into your old blog, perhaps that would work…
