First, ensure that you are seeing a freshly downloaded page from your blog by pressing CTRL and F5 simultaneously (called "a hard refresh"). Then re-check the page's source for your meta tags.

If you're still having problems, post your site's url.

i tried 'Hard Refresh'.. The pages' meta tags are present in the source code.. but i don't know where to edit them..

    my site's url is http://gethu.com

if u look at the code you can see that the header.php file starts only from line 54, whereas meta tags are present at the top of the source..

where do i edit them in wordpress..??

Have they been hard-coded into one of your theme files?

Ok ppl no need to panic, a simple search of my Wordpress 2.8 downloaded files gave the answer.

Just open the file named:default-widgets.php which can be located inside the wp-includes directory and delete/modify whatever meta links you please in there and upload to ur server, as simple as that, this was found before in the widgets.php in previous versions.

Also to remove the search for title and replace it with lets say an image u can just delete the text in the php file.

If you have any problems email me.

Had few bumps on the road of upgrading myself to the latest version of Wordpress with my personal theme but all seems to be working fine.

    enjoy ur coding,
