I cant Cache related posts... I click that button and get what my topic title says.. Then click build posts now and get this :
There was an error while constructing the related posts for
? Is this a problem, id love to use this plugin. I did the disqus thing to make it work cause it kept just blanking out the page but now atleast that part works. Any help?

@Skettalee - is this a new problem or have you had YARPP working on your blog before? Are you getting an error on the main screen of the YARPP options page saying there was a problem with your database?
Another option is to make sure that the "on the fly" caching option is turned on and simply try visiting one of your pages. If you're getting results there, it means that it's working and over time it will build up your cache.

I've a similar problem, with a fresh install, of 3.06 on WP 2.8.
I figured it was because the SQL tables weren't setup on Activating the plugin. Sure enough, they weren't so I tried to set them up following the SQL Manual Install guide here.
Unfortunately, the syntax there gives errors when trying to run the SQL code.
I'm guessing without the tables, YARPP won't work.
How can I setup the tables?
I also tried the latest BETA, but still no joy.

@ibeats - the latest beta won't change anything with regards to the SQL install. Which SQL command was a problem for your server? Are you using MySQL > 4.1?

aha, no it's only 4.0 - is that my problem?
Is there an easy way to upgrade to 4.1+?

hi there,
i have a similar problem like ibeat, and I hope someone has some tips for me, as the plugin isn't working correctly right know, and I really want to use it.
As the two MySQL tables weren't generated automatically while activating the plugin, I tried the way with manual install guide from your site and i got errors around collate utf8_unicode_ci.
I guess this is, because i use MySQL 4.0.
I than created the two tables through phpmyadmin and I was able to run the "build the cach now" routine.
the wp_yarpp_related_cache table gets filled with entries, but all show a score of 0, and the wp_yarpp_keyword_cache table stays empty.
(FYI - I have several posts with the same tags, so a relation should hsow in the table)
Has anyone a little help for me, how I can get this plugin working.

xdream1328, sounds like you did exactly the same as me. I've just today backed up my 4.0 db and dropped it into 4.1, i deleted the tables I created, disabled the plugin and have just reactivated it.
this time round it's created the tables automatically, and im just rebuilding.
i'm guessing, i say guessing, the creator's commented suggesting 4.1, that this plugin won't work under anything less.
sure enough, my caching has just completed, and all is now working!

@ibeats @xdream1328, as you guys seem to have figured out, there are a few different factors and reasons why 4.1 is required.
I just added that note explicitly to the readme so it will be in the next version's docs.

I have encountered the same problem and will look into the recommendations above. Suggestion:
How about a check of the MySQL version on activating the plugin with an error message or notification if it encounters a version less than 4.1? Might help folks like me avoid lost time. Thanks.
