I have been on the hunt now for over a month on a plugin that I can use or edit very little coding to do the following things.
Be able to but a subscribe from in my sidebar for viewers to put in their name and email address.
Send them a notice to confirm the subscription to there email after they fill out the form.
The will have the options to un-subscribe in future newsletters.
I do not want it to send out a new letter for every post I make but a custom newsletter that I can just type up on my wordpress.
I want to be able to have this in a Html format Newsletter when it arrives in their mail box with header and sections where in the email to state different things about what is going one with colors (template style emails).
Any plugins close to this that you would recommend?

Indeed it's hard:
- MailPress (http://is.gd/111u0) clashes with Contact Form 7 plug-in
- Simple Newsletter Plug-in (http://is.gd/111sg) has verify link page issues (and is generally pretty sloppy HTML/CSS-wise)
I'm still on the hunt. Thankfully it hasn't been a month now, but it's looking that way.
Anyone?
Thanks,
L

Hi,
I'm also looking for exactly the same functionality as carldesigns posted. I looked at subscribe2, but asaik it only allows html emails for registered users and not public verified email subscribers.
Problem with this is that I need to send html emails to users who shouldn't have to register at my site for an account.
Am I missing some option?
@carldesigns: Did you come up with a solution yet yourself?

Marius
