   Once I updated to WP 2.8 General Settings panel stops loading at TimeZone. Once I disabled plugin, everything works fine. I updated plugin to 4.2, but the problem is still there.

   Did you have any timezone plugin installed? 2.8 don´t need a timezone plugin.
   Minimeta do nothing on generel settings tab. an it works on my blog with 2.8.

   I have posted on another topic already, problem is with WordPress interaction with some plugins, causing to use too much memory on the Settings page. MiniMeta is one of the plugins that can cause that, but the blame is on WordPress, not plugins.
