Just updated to 2.8 and I can’t do anything in the new widget page and the delete button doesn’t work on comment page. I tried disabling all the plugins but nothing yet.

  • Clear browser cache and cookies

    Disable Gears

Also try to Enable Accessibility Mode in Appearance->Widgets->Screen options.

    Same here.

Screen Options does not work in the widget page the only working link is back to the dashboard. Gears, cache and cookies all cleared and still nothing.

    Thanks for the help

How about changing to the WordPress Default theme now that you have all plugins deactivated?

I am on a fresh 2.8 installation. Gears, cache and cookies all cleared and still no option to Save Changes on widgets page. I can edit and reorder but there is no Save button.

Bizarre! At first when I clicked on “Edit” for each widget it just expanded on that page. Now it opens a new page that allows me to Save! Strange!

it seems to be a plugin that is doing everything and I just missed it cause everything worked well with the default theme

That doesn’t make sense. What plugin is “doing everything?”

If you drag a Widget to the right, the Save for that Widget should be presented. If not, in Appearance->Widgets->Screen Options try the “Enable accessibility mode”.

    I am having simliar problems.

    1. The widget page does not display the sidebars
    2. The footer of the widget page is not displayed (i am assuming the entire page did not load.
    3. I cannot move or drag any of the widgets available
    4. I think i am missing some widgets (i.e. the tags)
    5. “Screen Option” or “Help” does not do anything when it is clicked
    6. None of the Javascript effects work (the sliding of the menus on the left

I have tried switching to the default template, clearing my cache and cookies, and even taken a shower. Still, i get the same problem.

Here is a screen shot of my widget page.

I will keep looking into it to see where else I can dig up.

okay, i figured out my problem. There was a plugin that was messing it up. It is the “Google Analyticator” plugin. If you deactivate it, the rest of the widget page loads and functions correctly.

For now, I am deleting this plug-in. I hope this solves some people’s problems.
