RSS Links not working (7 posts)

Just noticed that quite a number of my RSS links have also failed eg:

RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Could not open handle for fopen() to http://english.aljazeera.net/Services/Rss/?PostingId=200772215116

RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Could not open handle for fopen() to http://www.prwatch.org/blog/feed

RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Could not open handle for fopen() to http://www.legitgov.org/legitgov.xml

    etc, etc.

This has probably got to be the worst 'upgrade' ever and it's mostly useless 'improvements' eg, the mess that's been made of the plugins and Widgets admin pages. What was wrong with the 2.7.1 versions, they worked perfectly well, easy to navigate etc. Now, all I've got is dogs!

I am facing the same issue in WP 2.8.2. The rss feed I'm trying to integrate is http://www.geeksix.com/feed OR http://feeds2.feedburner.com/geeksix — any suggestions out there?

    @ jawtry
so what is wrong with this one?
    http://feeds2.feedburner.com/geeksix

    http://www.geeksix.com/feed
    redirects to feed burner
    do you need something else?

    @ bostonacoustics
    link?

I know — the feed seems to be functioning fine, and doesn't seem to be malformed. However, when I try to use another wordpress site (the working sample at http://test.fireflyrpg.com ) to pull in the feeds the default RSS widget doesn't pull in the feed. I just tried another RSS widget, and it's not pulling it in either. Any thoughts?

FYI: I solved this problem by updating the Magpie RSS stuff using instructions found here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/120458/page/2?replies=24
