This is an excellent plugin, but needs some tweaks and details to be just perfect. One of the things I can think right now is the lack of multi-column newsfeed.
Is there some way to achieve multi-column with the current version of the plugin? I have little practice with CSS and almost none with PHP, so I cant seem to figure this out.

Actually, it is multi-column, depending on the width of your page.
On the example site, I didn't use multi-column simply to blend with the template being used, but it will try for multi first.
All you have to do with CSS, is play with the width of each column. Default is 300px
