Error: "Feed has a error or is not valid" and sometimes only the structure of the feed.

Hello, I really would like to say, "good plugin" because I want it desperatly. However after a day working on it, I have to give up. I am an old man, willing to understand all of this, which succeeds me almost allways, but if your own example does not work: [RSSImport display="5" feedurl="http://bueltge.de/feed/"] and I only had success with one or two other feeds, only the headers, than something else is happening.
I use the Atahualpa theme, which says something about RSS feeds, but only exporting.

If I want to make a new page, your plugin shows, but the code is not working after I change the url. Could you place there a working code perhaps? That might give me an idea how to handle this plugin.

Sorry to bother you as a newbe tot WP

The code of the plugin is correctly, please use a valid feed and test new. When you test on frontend of your blog, please refresh the site in firefox with strg+F5 for clear cache. The feed-content was cached.

    Thanks,

I did clear the cache, even DL a button in Firefox to do so.
Then I really tried everything to get your own feed working, but no way. Or there is a error in your feed or it is not valid.

Doing as I did, turning back to the page, slowens the page dramaticly, so I guess it doing something, but what? The feed does not show.

    I also tried one I need, it's valid (http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.internetwerkt.nl%2Fforum%2F%2Findex.php%3Fact%3Drssout%26id%3D1)
[RSSImport display="5" feedurl="http://www.internetwerkt.nl/forum//index.php?act=rssout&id=1/"] With and without the last backslash. Feed is emty, which is not true.

    Another feed:
[RSSImport display="5" feedurl="http://www.trouw.nl/?service=rss/"] With the last backslash I get error or not valid.
Without backslash I get 5 headers, which lead me to the articles. However in another feedprogram the same feed gives 250 caracters as well.

    Worse is this:
    [RSSImport display="5" feedurl="http://www.trouw.nl/?service=rss/" before_desc="
    " displaydescriptions="true" after_desc=" " html="false" truncatedescchar="200" truncatedescstring=" ... " truncatetitlechar=" " truncatetitlestring=" ... " before_date=" <small>" date="false" after_date=" </small>" before_creator=" <small>" creator="false" after_creator=" </small>" start_items="

      " end_items="
    " start_item="
  4. " end_item="
  5. " target="" charsetscan="false" debug="false" before_noitems="<p>" noitems="No items, feed is empty." after_noitems="</p>" before_error="<p>" error="Error: Feed has a error or is not valid" after_error="</p>"]

Now I can understand that I have to do some codework but this result is:
Warning: file_get_contents(http://www.trouw.nl/?service=rss/) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /home/internetwerkt/html/e-netherlands.nl/wp-content/plugins/rss-import/rssimport.php on line 103

Error: Feed has a error or is not valid.
That is with the slash and this is without a slash:
Well I leave this on my test site: http://www.e-netherlands.nl/trouw-test-rss/

Maybe you can see what's happening now? I really hope so
    Regards

Now i have write a new version, works better and has a new class for parse Atom. Also i have update the Shortcode, you can use boolean string true or false and also integer string 1 or 0 for boolean parameter.

How do I use this with a text widget? I input the short code with my feed URL and it just displays the short code instead of the feed.

I would just use the rss widget except I want to put some other things (a form etc) in with it.
