• For some reason since I added a new user as an editor I am no longer to Publish Pages or Posts under my name only the 2 editors. My account is the administrator. I can’t even change the Authors name once it’s published now.

    How do you fix this?

  • Check what you have set in Wp-Admin:
Users – Admin – Display name publicly as

This is one avenue that usually fixes that problem:
1.Create new admin user (e.g. newadmin) with Administrator Role
    2.Login as ‘newadmin’
3.Degrade the old ‘admin’ user to Role of Subscriber and Save
4.Promote the old ‘admin’ back to Administrator Role and Save
    5.Login as the old ‘admin’

    If that doesn’t work try:
1.Create a new admin user (e.g. newadmin) with Administrator Role
    2.Login as ‘newadmin’
3.Delete the old ‘admin’ user and assign any posts to ‘newadmin’
    4. Create ‘admin’ user with Administrator Role
    5. Login as ‘admin’
    6. Delete ‘newadmin’ user and assign posts to ‘admin’

Please let us know what works for you!

I’m sorry if i’m getting up this old 3d, but i just wanna say thx to MichaelH because first solution fixed my problem.

    Just curious….why this happens?
I never added user before, but they have registered by themselves.
Last user got a space in his username…may this have a rilevance?

    Regards,
    Dario

Ditto, MichaelH’s first fix worked like a charm!

This obviously seems like a bug, I am using 2.9.1 and its still there. YIKES!!!

Fix number one did it for me too. I think this is a bug too.

I think the bug is related to creating the admin, and authoring posts and then adding new authors after the fact. The workaround above fixes it.
