• I’m trying to install wordpress on goDaddy but I want the mysql database to be on my web server.

I’ve done this before with other web servers, all I had to do was change the db_host in the wp_config file to the IP address I wanted. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Calling goDaddy support is an absolute last resort for me. I’m getting sick to my stomach just thinking about having to do that again.

    Thanks for any help,

    Joe

Sorry you’re having the trouble. We sent you a direct message through Twitter too. From your Go Daddy hosting account, you should have no trouble connecting to one of the databases we provide. Unfortunately, we don’t support connecting to a third party hosting companies databases from our shared hosting accounts.
