For example, when a visitor clicks on “uncategorized” or any other category, is there a way I can insert an image above the displayed blog posts? Is there a categories php file I can edit?

  • Category pages use archive.php file to display the content. You can edit that to add image. But that would also affect Archive for day, month, year, tags, author in most templates.

I don’t seem to have that file in my theme. I’ve already tried contacting the owner of the theme but have yet to receive a response.

These are the php files for this theme:
    404.php
    about.php
    comments.php
    footer.php
    functions.php
    header.php
    home.php
    index.php
    page.php
    sidebar.php
    single.php
    style.css

And these are the files in the ‘includes’ folder:
    ads.php
    blogstyle.php
    defaulthome.php
    defaultindex.php

Do any of these ring a bell?
