Support » Fixing WordPress » Unwanted
tags

  • Hey guys,
I would really appreciate some help on this one.
So Im using WordPress 2.7.1 and wherever I include blockquotes it seems to add a closing paragraph tag
just before closing the blockquote tag. There is no opening paragraph tag
so it produces validation errors because of the end paragraph tag which is not open.

This is an example of the code produced:

The amount of pills Im taking, counteracts the booze Im drinking

    Notice how the
tag has been added before the end of the blockquote? WordPress adds this every time and it is unwanted.
I did find a few plugins that prevented WordPress from adding paragraph tags, however they also stripped the
tags from the pages which I added and do want.

    Any help is much appreciated,
    Thanks

Hey, thanks for the reply, but as mentioned above I found a few plugins that were able to do this, however they all also stripped the
tags from the page. I just want the extra paragraph tags removed but all the plugins seem to strip the break tags too.
    Thanks

The WP editor tends to strip
tags on its own, plugin or no plugin. You may want to create a class for
tags that has no bottom margin/padding, that you can use in place of a
tag. Assign the class to a
when you want it to act like a
Everyone would agree the editor is less than perfect.
