• So, I wanted to do the themes thing, and the CODEX says to log into the admin and select the “presentation menu option.”

    I don’t see any such thing…

I think what I’d really like is a very clean css sheet that I could use to replace wp-layout.css, and have it work, with calendar, etc. on the right, comments on the left, something like Plain Vanilla, which I could get to work, but TIME is a problem for me. Is there just a basic, clean, two column style sheet that I could use to replace wp-layout and have it work without to much tweaking?

  • This is a new feature in WordPress 1.5. If you have 1.2, you’ll have to upgrade

Also, you can only see the Presentation menu item if you’re logged in with an account of user level 8 or higher

are you running 1.2 or 1.5?

if 1.5, you edit your theme by going into wp-admin
presentation -> theme editor -> then on the right there are a list of files you can edit. The top one is the .css file.

Actually, I just downloaded 1.5 and it’s not there.. How do I log in with user level 8? No dungeons and dragons answers, please! 🙂

Just planning ahead a bit upgrading 2 cols to 3 is no easy task and it requires extended hacking.

    OK, three then.

AHA! It says WP 1.2.1. Damn. I could have sworn I got the new one… Off to upgrade.

On the other point, If there are CSS sheets I can just drop in and have work with the default index, that’d be good.
