    README maybe viewed at http://www.biermana.org/phpGiggle/README.html
phpGiggle locates user-defined keywords and phrases in an HTML document or string and subsequently replaces the keywords or phrases with anchor tags linking to user-defined URLs. As well, pre-defined ‘template’ anchor tags are included for Google.com, Dictionary.com, Webopedia.com, Vivisimo.com, CPAN.org, Freshmeat.net and others. With phpGiggle, anchor tags for an entire website can be contained in a single file, with links being dynamically generated when the HTML is displayed to vistor’s browser. This is particulary useful for sites with dynamically generated content, such as Blogs, News sites, etc. Content creators need-not worry about creating links when posting new content, as phpGiggle will auto link the keywords and phrases at runtime. phpGiggle performs dynamic anchor tag generation very quickly and with no noticeable impact to the browser, providing a pleasant user experience that includes plentiful links to additional content which the reader may find useful.

  • Great Update 🙂
When I go to update a keyword in IE6 Iget a runtime error asking:
Line 53 document.selectform.comment is null or not an object.
Not sure what it means but I thought I would let you know 🙂

uh.. my login page doesn’t work.. i modify the config file with my username and pass but just can’t log in with them..

..and i tried to remove the inclusion for phpgiggle-validate to see if i could do something, the control panel shows up, but everything i try to click in the left menu (add a keyword ecc..) causes no action..

gat, there is an edit link on ur posts. perhaps u could use that! 🙂
try uploading with the default password.
and make sure, u specified the URL to the blog in the config file.

i downloaded the entire package from the server’s shell, moved the old files to another directory to be sure everything is made from start, modified the config file with the right url of my blog, didn’t modify password, but can’t log in.

    Sushubh,
phpGiggle now avoids matching any words inside a <H1>, <H2> etc.
Looks like that maybe what you running into.
The logic for not matching <H1> tags is that the content author probably doesn’t want his/her headings modified.
Could make it optional I suppose. What do you think?

    KarlB,
I test and develop in Netscape on Debian, so I’ll need to get a hold of a IE on Windoze installation and test.
    Tony

Tony, I believe its not a big deal. Heading tags are not used in the content/comments anyways. That was an exception I accidently fall upon…
I can live without that. 🙂

    KarlB,
I tested on IE6/Windoze with no problems (except of course that I had to use a Micro$oft product).
Did you change permissions on the sample words file into place and chmod the words directory as per the README?
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
Hmmmm no I didn’t. Maybe my IE6 is playing up. The problem there is that you cannot uninstall IE6.
    I will try again.
    Thanks
