• …or, why is WordPress hiding all the plugins?

    Greetings,
    I’m testing/evaluating WordPress as an option for the customers
    we host. As I look to “extend” it; that is, add needed/desired
    functionality. I find that the WordPress site hides
    most of them. I see that there are some categories to the
    left. But there is no way to see all of them. The
    closest offering is a “more tags”. But these are – well, just
    tags, and they’re all “mashed” together. Attempting a search
    provides links to discussions, and other un-related information.
    This is really frustrating. Why isn’t there a
    complete list of categories available? Why can’t there be a
    “pageable” listing like:
    << < 1 2 3 4 … 51 52 53 > >>
    at the bottom of the plugins page?

    Thank you for all your time and consideration in this matter.

    I’ll try WordPress again, when something like this is
    implemented.

  • I click on categories and see all of them with pagination
    same for plugins

    am I missing something?

    are you using the latest version?

    I’m using 2.71. But I’m commenting on wordpress.org.
    That is; When I attempt to page through the Themes/Plugins
    hosted here. It is not possible to “page” through the
    entire list. For example; when going to extend > themes
    I have the following options:
    on the left –
    # Themes
    * Theme Authors
    * My Themes
    * More Info
    * Contact Us

    on the right –
    Most Popular »

    Newest Themes »

    As you can see, there is no filter for ALL,
    nor are there any options to “create” a filter
    against all the Themes hosted here.

    Seems to me that Theme/Plugin Authors would be ill
    advised to have their work(s) hosted here. As the
    results will likely be hidden from
    their intended audience/user(s).

    Why would WordPress wish to make it so difficult
    for users to find things?

    Thank you very much for taking the time to respond.
