One note -- plugin said it made the .htaccess file for me, which would surprise me if it were able. If it did, it's in wrong place & I'll have to find that later.
So I used your helpful "show .htaccess content" button, copied the necessary htaccess code & pasted into .htaccess file in top-level dir. You saved me the re-read of the docs & so on.
