I'm trying to arrange some of my pages in hierachies.

Choosing a 'parent' under 'edit page', but it didn't work.

    What is wrong?

That is how you do it. (You won't see the page appear on the Page listing page immediately, not until you refresh the page).

What do you mean it didn't work - what didn't work?

    Thanks, stvwlf.

I have one page called 'lounge' and another one called 'news'. When I open 'news' in Edit Page, I go to Attributes and choose 'lounge' as a parent. And update page.

I refresh my blog and thought that under the 'lounge'-button now the 'news'-button would come. But no. I can't find the page 'news' anywhere.

If I understand what you are saying, you are referring to navigation buttons? To have child buttons display under parent level buttons requires a theme that includes a second level menu, either dropdowns or a secondary nav menu.

The theme has to be set up to handle that. Not all themes are.

Okei. I have seen it in other bloggs that use 'elegant-grunge' - the same theme that I'm using. Do you now that one?

I thought the level buttons used as dropdowns was a standard in that theme...

I've not worked with that theme so far. I went to the theme page at http://michael.tyson.id.au/wordpress/themes/elegant-grunge/

The author says his own site is the demo of the theme. His site does not have dropdown menus.

When you look at the Edit Pages page in admin, when you see Lounge, are you seeing News just beneath it, indented to the right? If you are that indicates WP sees it as a child page of Lounge. If not, something is not set up correctly.

If it works correctly, download a theme that definitely has dropdown menus and make it active. If your dropdowns now work then you know the issue is the grunge theme doesn't handle dropdowns.

    Hello,

Would someone please tell me how to move a Page from the page menu to one of the navigation buttons in my theme's header? (i.e.,homepage,about me,about this site, etc.)

I'm working with a theme that I've simply forgotten how to re-arrange some of my Pages location.

    Thanks in advance.

    gday
