2.7.1 runs like a snail on dopamine (3 posts)

Like so many others, I've found the new version of WP 2.7.1 to be so slow as to be almost unusable.

It's obviously a major issue judging by the number of complaints about it.

I'm running mine on a local sever so there is no reason for it to be slow, but it crawls like a dying slug.

I think the WP crew need to officially address this problem and put something in the upgrade instructions as to how to make it run properly.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Other than that it looks great, and the functionality seems to be huge improvement.

    Thanks in advance.

OK, sorry for my earlier tirade, heat of the moment and all that.

I tried disabling all of the plugins and WP 2.7.1 now runs quite fast.

Now I just have to activate all the plugins one at a time to see which one/ one's are causing the speed issues. (like I have had to do at every previous upgrade.)

And before anyone says it, yes I have upgraded to all the latest versions of the plugins.

If I find the problem plugs I'll let you know.

    Hmmm,

after using it for a few days, it's still slower than the earlier versions.

Ran WP Tuner over it, but I don't know what the results mean,.

    Can anyone shed some light?
