2.7.1 doesn't save nor publish posts or pages (7 posts)

    Hi.

I have a blog I installed 2 months ago. My last page published was some weeks ago, today I wanted to modify some page and it is impossible to publish or save it. I have tried Firefox, Chrome and IE with the visual editor and with the html editor and the result is the same: when I click on save or publish I'm redirected to the blog home but without "Page saved" message and the post-page wasn't saved.

I have found that if the post-page's content is just text, WP can save it. But if I use an html tag like "strong" or even a "a" link, it won't save it. As you can imagine this is not ideal.

Do you have any idea why it is doing this? By the way, I haven't change anything on the WP installation since it was working fine some weeks ago. I have installed, but deactivated: NextGen Gallery and WordPress Stats.

Thanks in advance. This behavior is really frustrating.

I am having the same problem. My Web Host is bluehost.com. I have not made any changes or added any pluggins, etc. to my WordPress configuration since the last time I posted successfully. I now can not post --go through the motions with no results

    Appreciate any help as well.

    Try re-uploading the wp-includes and wp-admin folders.

Re-upload as suggested. If you are still having problems list here whatever errors or behavior you are seeing as well as a link to your site.

I realized my server was using an older version of WP (2.0) so I went through the upgrade process to 2.7.1:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended#Step_13:_Add_the_SECRET_KEY_definition_to_wp-config.php

All seems to be working now.

Thanks -- the tip to reload the wp-includes and wp-admin folders lead me to do the upgrade.

Another topic -- Is there a way to quickly & easily delete all comments that are pending? I have over 20,000 awaiting moderation, and it appears all are spam.

Thanks for the comments. I will reupload the files esmi suggested next weekend.
By the way I have searched for changes on the files and all of them are from the date I uploaded them. I wonder if this could exclude the hacker attack theory. Also all the tables have their autoincrement intact.
I will keep you updated. Thanks.
