[resolved] 2.7 installation - Blank screen for upgrade.php and entire site (5 posts)

    I have looked at the other threads and although they say resolved - I didn't actually see any resolution that would work.

    I deleted the files I needed to and didn't delete the ones I am not supposed to - and yet, when I try to go to http://www.beyondelsewhere.ca/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php I just get a blank screen - and my blog itself is gone.

    I know I currently have a blizzard outside, but I didn't think it normally applied to my blog as well. :)

    Help?

    I had also deactivated all my plugins, BTW. Before anyone asks...

    Well i successfully upgraded from 2.6.5 TO 2.7 without any problem just my WP-sticky which is solved now.

    So here's the formula to successfully upgrade ur site;

    1) Don't use automatic update option, do it manually

    2) Follow the intructions.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended

    Upload files using ur FTP

    Note: Don't follow this rule

    "wp-content folder; Special Exception: the wp-content/cache and the wp-content/plugins/widgets folders should be deleted"

    Just delete wp-content/cache don't delete wp-content/plugins/ folder

    and u'll get fully working site.

    Thanks, but I did all that, actually. I can't do an automatic update it doesn't work on my server so I do everything manually and follow those extended instructions to carefully it takes me forever. :)

    Guess I'll just be uploading my backup back to the server and live without 2.7. :(

    Got it! My extraction of the files didn't extract all of them so I was missing stuff in my wp-includes.

    I'm back up and operational. Woo!
