I was wondering if there are any plans, or hope for, including inclusion of the bit.ly api & login so that my created urls can be tracked. Thanks,

You should probably use the Twitter Friendly Links plugin 😉 better than bit.ly and others.. Look for the video @ wordpress.tv

Even better is to use the RevCanonical plugin in combination with TweetMe so that you host your own short links, and don’t rely on a 3rd party to keep hold them.
