• For some reason, when I type a post in WordPress and use a single quote mark (in a contraction or as a quote), WordPress seems to “multiply’ them when I finally press the post button.

For example, I type don’t but when the article is released, the word shows up as don”””’t

I really do not know how to go about figuring this out to see if this is a plugin interface issue or something else.

Any help is appreciated in advance.

  • Deactivate all of your plugins and then test the post editor to see if you’re still getting the multiple quotes. If that solves the problem, re-activate the plugins one by one – re-testing the post editor after each re-activation – until you find the plugin that’s causing the problem.

first of all, thanks for your response. I de-activated the plugins and that did not help.

However, I did find out that this takes place when I either save the post as a draft or press the “publish” button and it does this with plugins activated or without any plugins activated.

OK – so not a plugin problem. Any chance it could be your theme? Have you tried temporarily activating the default theme?
