Single quote Marks gets multiplied

    For some reason, when I type a post in WordPress and use a single quote mark (in a contraction or as a quote), WordPress seems to “multiply’ them when I finally press the post button.

    For example, I type don’t but when the article is released, the word shows up as don”””’t

    I really do not know how to go about figuring this out to see if this is a plugin interface issue or something else.

    Any help is appreciated in advance.

    Deactivate all of your plugins and then test the post editor to see if you’re still getting the multiple quotes. If that solves the problem, re-activate the plugins one by one – re-testing the post editor after each re-activation – until you find the plugin that’s causing the problem.

    first of all, thanks for your response. I de-activated the plugins and that did not help.

    However, I did find out that this takes place when I either save the post as a draft or press the “publish” button and it does this with plugins activated or without any plugins activated.

    OK – so not a plugin problem. Any chance it could be your theme? Have you tried temporarily activating the default theme?
