How to turn off items in side panel

    I have looked through the admin panel and can not figure out or find how to turn off/remove the following from the right side panel

    popular Articles
    Recent Topics
    Links
    Topics
    etc.

    On the WP front page all I want to have is the regular posts in the main section and on the right side panel I want to just have “Archives” and remove the rest.

    Do I have to edit code in order to just remove these options?
