This is new and exciting...I would like some feedback on my site. It is new, I am working learning how to do a lot of things to my site, but this is what I have so far.
What do you think? Suggestions? (I am going to post my technical questions elsewhere)

Thank you! yes, I have noticed that successful blogs have PICTURES!
I am currently looking for ways to get free/cheap professional pictures to go along with my posts...any suggestions???

I may a bit of minimalist, but I would consider toning down the colors a little. There are too many colors in close proximity to each other.
If the content is not easy on the eyes to read, you may lose readers.
Let's see...
1) White text for the title
2) Orange text for the content/meat
3) Pink text for the highlight/accent
4) Black text for notations
5) White text for the tag
I would pick two, maybe three and stick to them.
You can increase the appearance of content by removing the strong tag and making the text slightly larger. Then separate the content into paragraphs of 2-3 sentences each; instead of a single large one.
As for photos, iStockPhoto is a good place for commercial ones.
There is also Stock Exchange http://www.sxc.hu/ for free photos.
