want excerpts in categories but full posts on homepage

at postcardsfromrowland.com, i am trying to do the following…

homepage: show the complete posts. not excerpts.
categories pages: show excerpts.
posts pages: show complete posts.

how do i do this? when i have changed the index.php, it does not differentiate between the home and category pages.
