   Installed XAMPP and wordpress on my pc. My blog is working fine locally but I cant access the blog from another pc in my lan or from the internet. I've forwarded the necessary ports but still can't access the blog. (I get operation timeout)

   Not sure how it works with XAMPP but with my local install i can access via PC name..

   http://PCNAMEHERE/

   Have you tried that?

   Is the PC viewable on the network otherwise?

   And what about by direct IP.
   Ex: http://192.168.xxx.xxx

   Assuming it's a window PC, what's your hosts file look like?

   I can access the pc by name or by ip address. but I'll get operation timeout using either http://pcname/blog or http://ipaddress/blog

   Found out what the problem was. The firewall was blocking access to the computer. Modifeid the firewall config and now it works fine.
