Hello Peter. I’m brand new to wordpress and I’m still trying to figure things out. I’m using the new P2 (twitter-like) theme and I’d like multiple users/authors to be able to upload custom avatars. Can you walk me through specifically how to get the plugin to work and which code I need to change and where it’s located? Your help will be greatly appreciated!

  • The plugin is fairly easy to use. If you theme is already enabled for avatars it should be fine as-is. If not, take a look at the help at the bottom of the Users >> Avatars page…

Peter, great plugin – Users > Avatar interface was quite cool and easy to set up. Despite tutorials on how to get a gravatar, others were just not into getting one 🙂 so thank you for this plugin!

    Peter,
The plugin appears to be working however, I am have trouble with the people that leave comments but do not register. I still see that blasted Gravatar avatar even after I tell it to use a blank avatar if no local avatar is found. The site is “http://www.nanaandakeem.com”. Am I missing something? I’m not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination so, if it’s in the code, you may have to literally spell it out for me in english…hehe. Thanks for you help.

Herman, your theme isn’t showing any avatars!? Not even the default Gravatar G… You need a theme that uses avatars, and you need to choose the default you want to use on my Users >> Avatars config. page. Good luck.

I’m using the P2 theme as well, and it has the gravatar hanging out next to all the posts. I’m not seeing Users >> Avatars in my dashboard, and the image the gravatar is pulling isn’t the one I have associated with my email address for the site. The site is http://www.drunkist.com; what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance…

update: i figured it out. thanks!
