Unable to email posts to Blog

    I have just set up a blog using an adjusted Classic theme, and set up through the Dashboard to receive posts via email. Manual, Automatic or the postie plugin do not seem to work. When tring to manually activate the email post I get this error message:
    POP3 Quit: the connection does not exist

    I have tried changing the email details in the dashboard with no efffect. Help needed!

    I’m a newbie to WordPress, php, css and all forms of coding so really simple explainations please.
