   I need to display only the months of the archive (November, December, January, ect), I don't want the year to display after the month( November 2008, December 2008, ect)

   I'm trying to list the year first, then all of the months that have posts in them under it.

   Year (2008)
   month (November)
   month (December)

   Year (2009)
   month (January)

   Any suggestions please?

   me too! (though in dropdown) i thought about hacking this plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/compact-archives/) but we'll see
