    Building first site in 2.7 and can’t find how/where to assign custom pages. in other versions of WP when a page was created or edited you could assign a custom page template to be used, where is that setting in 2.7?

    On Admin/Edit Page under the Publish Tab (right hand side, probably). Look for “Template”. If you don’t have any custom templates in your current theme, then the Template sub-section and associated dropdown won’t be shown.

    i dont have that option, however, in the quick edit on the pages listing there is a page template option but it only offers ‘default template’, in previous versions of WP adding

    <?php
    /*
    Template Name: mytemplate
    */
    ?>

    allowed custom page templates to be listed in the dropdown, but is not working now

    It still works – honest! It sounds like you don’t have any custom pages in your current theme.

    apparently its a bug, if you switch themes then switch back it shows up, kind of weird tho
