   I've built a custom theme and my search doesn't seem to be working. Can anyone help?

   i think you need to articulate the actual problem a little better.

   When I use the search function, no matter what I search for, it returns no results. Even if I search for the exact title of a post, I get no results.

   Since this is a custom theme, I'm wondering if I've left something out somewhere.

   So, this is stranger than I initially thought. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with my custom theme.

   As a way to test the theme, I applied the default theme and tried the search. I got the same behavior with the default theme, so it isn't my theme.

   I tried a bunch more searches and have found some that work. I'm entering words directly from post titles into the search field and some are returning the appropriate posts and some just aren't.

   Doh! I think I figured out my problem. It's a setting in the Advanced Category Excluder plugin. It was hiding search results for some categories.
