    Hello Everyone,
    I’m using WP version 2.6.5

I’ve been using WP for a while now, and I’ve gotten pretty familiar with it. But today I noticed something weird and would like to know if that is normal or if there is an error in my codex or database.

I made some changes to the content of an old post that was published few weeks ago, and saved the post again. when I type in the permanent link for the post and visit it directly then everything looks normal. All the changes are published and everything looks fine.
    Normal permanent link: http://www.futbolwallpapers.com/team_wallpapers/ac-milan-wallpaper-1/

But when I perform a search on my live site for that post then I see a the original post as well as a duplicate of the same post in the search results, where the duplicate has a different category and permanent link.
The category for the duplicate is “Uncategorized” and the permanent link is: http://www.futbolwallpapers.com/uncategorized/8-revision/

I’ve never noticed this before, and was wondering if this is something normal or if it is an error in my codex and/or database.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi

That is a post revision, from the revisions system. Its certainly not supposed to show up in your search results. I have seen occasions where a duplicate of a post is created when I am saving a new post. Found a forum post which said that can happen when you are saving a post at the same time that an auto-save is going on.

My suggestion is look through your post edit page and see if that duplicate post has somehow worked its way into your live posts. If so, delete it.

behind the scenes WP stores each post revision as a separate post in the database table, marked as post type revision.

    Hi stvwlf,
    Thanks for your reply.

I checked my post edit page, and couldn’t find any duplicates (which is good). But the duplicates where still coming up in the search results. Then for another reason, not related to this issue, I had to turn off my “Ultimate Tag Warrior” plugin, and when I did a search again, the duplicate in the search results where gone.

I’m not sure why, but since I have turned off “Ultimate Tag Warrior” plugin everything is fine again.

However, I’m still using the “Ultimate Tag Warrior” plugin on one of my other blogs, without having the duplicate post issue.

I have too look further into this, and figure out what is causing this.

    Thanks again.
