   Here is a thing I wanted for a while now and I don't now how to go about it:

   When I built a new WP site I usually put it in Maintenance Mode (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/maintenance-mode/) so I can work on it but it is not accesible by the public.

   Sometimes I do want to show the client the current state of progress - but I don't want them to log into the backend. Oftentimes that just confuses the heck out of them.

   Is there a way to let them log in, see the frontend and not the backend? Doesn't have to use the above mentioned plugin.

   If you're going to have them login still, then just update the re-direct so it sends anyone logging in to the main page instead of the dashboard.

   You can do it by editing the wp-login.php file, of course you'll have to change it back afterwards (core file) but it'll work...

   $redirect_to = admin_url();
