I have previously used this plugin on a different blog [v2.7.1] and had no trouble with it, was working fine and all.

I tried to install it on a fresh new blog and the plugin won't even activate, it comes up with the following error:

'Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/********/********/wp-content/plugins/mailpress/MailPress.php on line 118'

[I blanked out the path for security reasons]

I downloaded the plugin fresh from the WordPress plugins page and haven't edited anything nor have I edited the WordPress script itself.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

    ********** UPDATE ***********

Downloaded V3 of this plugin and am now getting the same problem on a different line:

'Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/********/********/wp-content/plugins/mailpress/MailPress.php on line 113'

Well thanks for the quick response...

Anyway, the problem must have been to do with my internet cache or cookies as I tried to activate it the next day and it worked.

    Hi

I just got exactly the same error as you when I tried to activate it. As it's a php error I don't think it can have anything to do with cookies or cache. I think it must be to do with the php version on your server as the plugin requires php 5.2 to run (as I've discovered)
