[resolved] How Does "Future Publishing" Works (4 posts)

I am looking for some information on how exactly WP Future Publishing feature works.

If, for example, I have a post that I want to post after 4 days from now, I set the date there and press "Schedule" button, right? Yeah, so far so good.

But what I am really interested in is will my "ping" list will be pinged as soon as I press "Schedule" button or will it ping them when the post is live?

The fact is that I want to spread my posts throughout the whole month by posting one post per day. But if WP pings as soon as I press "Schedule" button, there's no point in doing that, since it will be seen as if those all posts were published in one day.

If that's the case, maybe there are some plugins that you are aware of that use CRON jobs to do the future publishing "right way"?

    Thanks

I'm 98% sure the pings won't happen until the post is actually published. Until that moment, the post only exists inside Wordpress.

With the latest code, pings don't happen until the post actually appears.

This was not necessarily the case in previous versions.
