This is a no-brainer question, but have you dumped your history/cookies/temp internet files lately? Try that, then report back to your site…

This is the first time this has ever happened. Typically upgrades have been problem free.
In fact, I suspect there is an issue with the upgrade files… Because when I unzip the files they’re labeled WordPress 2. All other downloads in the past have had the specific WordPress version number as part of the files name.
Not so with this one…
It’s just an idea but it happened me in the past. I uploaded the wrong files (old WP version) and I of course got the same results as you.
